Fuel pump inspected

Imphal, Mar 13 : A team of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution (CAF&PD) officials led by Haobam Bobby Singh, Officer on Special Duty (POL) conducted a surprise inspection at the retail outlet of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at Wangkhei Ayangpalli in Imphal East district today.
The facility owned by one Koijam Jiten was surveyed under the aegis of K Bono Singh, Director, CAF&PD, marking the last episode of the surprise inspection drive launched on January 5, 2026.
Officials of IOCL and Weights & Measures collaborated with CAF&PD in today's effort.
Speaking in this connection, Haobam Bobby shared that inspections had been conducted at retail outlets of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Naraya Energy Limited (NEL). Samples of petrol and diesel collected have been sent to Guwahati for quality tests.
Commenting on today's inspection, he said no issues have been detected. Samples of petrol and diesel will be collected and handed over to IOCL State Level Coordinator RK Mohen, which will then be sent to Guwahati for testing.
After the completion of the necessary tests, if the report contains evidence of adulteration then CAF&PD will take up appropriate action, said the OSD, POL.
Addressing the burning topic of the conflict in the Middle East, he urged the people not to worry about shortage of LPG, petrol and diesel assuring that sufficient stocks are available.
