The arrested individual has been identified as Ramayo Vashum (51), son of Sathphang Vashum.
It is reported that two police teams conducted a raid at the accused's hideout at Kathiko Karong, Senapati, where he was apprehended.
During the arrest, two mobile phones, suspected to have been used for coordinating the offence, were seized.

The movement of the vehicle was corroborated with CCTV footage near the crime scene.
The seized items include one Gypsy vehicle bearing Manipur registration number, a Vivo Y200 mobile phone, and a Kechaoda K66 keypad mobile phone.
Senapati Police, in its statement, mentioned that efforts are ongoing to arrest the other accused involved in the crime.
On the other hand, NSCN/GPRN stated that they had been informed of Ramayo Vashum's arrest by the Senapati police in connection with the TMT-laden truck arson at Kabinam village. The statement mentioned that Vashum, a former Major in the Naga Army, was given forced retirement in 2022 due to unbecoming conduct during his service.
The NSCN/GPRN expressed regret over his involvement in such anti-social activities, emphasising that the incident was entirely his personal action and had no connection with the organization.
