State Sepaktakraw athletes leave Imphal for National camp

IMPHAL, Mar 14 : Several players and an official from Manipur have left the State yesterday to attend the National Coaching Camp organised by the Sepaktakraw Federation of India at the Sports Authority of India in Haryana, in preparation for the Asian Games 2026 and other upcoming international championships.
According to information received from the Manipur Sepaktakraw Association, the National camp is being held at the SAI National Centre, Sonepat, from March 12 to March 31, 2026.
The players selected for the camp in the men’s category are S Malemganba Singh, Kh Holendro Singh, L Lenchenba Meitei, M Ashok Singh, M Ningtamba, and Th Robinson.
In the women’s category, the selected players are Oinam Chaoba Devi, Chanam Jenifer, Longjam Linthoi Devi, and Yumnam Malemnganbi.
Meanwhile, Hirom Kiran Kumar Singh has been selected as an official/coach for the National coaching camp.
All the selected players and officials have been instructed to report to Chief Coach Hemraj at the SAI National Centre, Sonepat, to participate in the intensive training programme aimed at preparing the national team for upcoming international competitions, including the Asian Games 2026.
On behalf of the Manipur Sepaktakraw Association (AMSTA), General Secretary Chingangbam Geskant extended his best wishes to the selected players and officials.
He expressed confidence that the athletes will make the most of this opportunity and train with dedication and discipline during the camp, hoping their hard work will bring pride and honour to both Manipur and the Nation in the upcoming international championships.
