NYPC beat MMFA in Tbl 3rd Divn Football League opener

IMPHAL, Mar 14 : The 3rd Division Football League-2025-26 organised by the District Football Association, Thoubal began this afternoon with NYPC, Ningombam beating MMFA, Heirok by 3-2 goals at Thoubal Ningombam Mini Stadium.
M Tompok put MMFA ahead after 12 minutes but W Calvin converted a penalty to draw level for NYPC in the 26th minute before his teammate N Dhiraj overturned the lead in the 37th minute. The lead grew further for NYPC as N Mahesh joined the scoring spree in the 67th minute before MMFA pulled back one goal through N Nenson in the 74th minute.
MMFA put in diligent effort in the remainder of the game to draw level but NYPC defence stood firm to deny any changes in the scoreline till the final whistle and register first Group A win.
