IMPHAL, Mar 17: A mild tremor briefly interrupted the proceedings of the ongoing Assembly session today.
As a demand for grant pertaining to the Public Health Engineering Department was being discussed in the House, Members of the House felt a mild tremor.
A mild tremor struck the State when Congress MLA K Meghachandra raised a cut motion along with several issues about the failure of water supply schemes taken up under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Pausing his speech, Meghachandra said, “It’s an earthquake. May be this is because of my question”.
Speaker Th Satyabrata replied that it was because of the question but it was a good omen.
Meghachandra asked if it would not be better for the Members to go outside.
In the next moment, the Speaker adjourned the proceedings for five minutes.
