Realisation Month

IMPHAL, Mar 17 : The 46th Realization Month (Meekap Thokpa Numit) began today with a call to safeguard the indigenous people of Manipur at the conference hall of the Chemistry Department at Manipur University (MU).
Organised by the All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU), the programme, which will continue till April 17, is being held under the theme "Realize to Save the Indigenous Peoples of Manipur."
The event started with tributes to Potshangbam Premananda and Huidrom Loken, two student leaders who lost their lives during the "Go Back Foreigner" movement in 1980.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dean of School of Life Science  (MU) Prof N Mohilal, AMSU president L Malangba, UCM president YK Dhiren, NESO assistant secretary general W Sanatomba Meetei, literary and publication secretary of MUSU S Sidananda and demographer RK Narendra.
Addressing the function, Malangba announced that Meekap Thokpa Numit will be held for a month starting this year.
He stated that throughout the month, various programmes will be organised, including academic discourses, essay and debate competitions, cultural exchange programmes, and symposiums, among others.
