KZC scheduled to talk with CM today

IMPHAL, Mar 20: For the first time following the violent crisis which erupted on May 3, 2023, the Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) will hold talks with Chief Minister Y Khemchand on restoration of peace and normalcy in the State.
The Chief Minister’s Office has already sent a formal invitation to KZC chairman Henlianthang Thanglet for the meeting.
A letter signed by Neilenthang Telien, Secretary to Chief Minister, invited KZC chairman Henlianthang Thanglet and other members to a meeting with Chief Minister Y Khemchand at Guwahati on March 21, 2026 to discuss matters related to bringing back peace and normalcy in Manipur.
Sources said that the KZC has accepted the invitation from the Chief Minister’s Office, and the council’s leaders have started preparing for the meeting.
With Chief Minister Y Khemchand slated to leave Imphal for Guwahati at 3 pm tomorrow, the meeting is likely to take place in the evening.
After holding talks with KZC leaders, the Chief Minister will leave Guwahati for Delhi on March 22.
Khemchand may meet many Central leaders and discuss expansion of his Cabinet during his trip to Delhi, said the sources.
Ahead of the high-stake meeting scheduled tomorrow with KZC, Khemchand held a high-level meeting at the New Secretariat this afternoon with Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel, DGP Rajiv Singh and Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh.
