Kuki militants on the offensive, again

IMPHAL, Mar 20:  Sanakeithel (Sinakeithei) village once again came under attack from suspected Kuki militants wielding sophisticated weapons including bombs.
At around 3.30 pm on March 19, suspected Kuki militants armed with sophisticated weapons and explosives opened a volley of fire and tried to advance toward Sanakeithel from Lungter hill range, sources said.
Tangkhul village volunteers retaliated by firing toward the suspected Kuki militants.
The retaliatory fire stopped the suspected Kuki militants from reaching Sanakeithel.
The exchange of firing between the suspected Kuki militants and Tangkhul village volunteers continued till 5.10 pm. However there was no report of any injuries on either side.
Again at around 6 am on March 20, suspected Kuki militants carried out a fresh attack at Sanakeithel from Lungter hill range.
In retaliation, Tangkhul village volunteers also fired towards the suspected Kuki militants and the gun fight lasted for an hour.
There was no report of any injury during the gun fight.
According to the sources, Litan village too came under attack from the direction of Mongkot Chepu village last night at around 7 pm.
The attack lasted for some minutes but there was no report of any injury.
