IMPHAL, Mar 20 : Taking note of the report concerning a proposed meeting with some Kuki Zo organisations and the State Government, the  United Kuki National Army (UKNA) has urged the authorities concerned to prioritise justice for the affected communities and to work towards comprehensive and lasting solutions before engaging in symbolic peace processes.
The UKNA, in a press note, stated that it does not support any initiative for peace that is not grounded in concrete and just solutions.
"While UKNA is not opposed to the idea of  peace, it firmly maintains that any meaningful and lasting peace must be preceded by justice and accountability," the outfit said.
Saying that the ongoing crisis has left deep scars and  the victims of the violence continue to await justice, UKNA said that any attempt to advance peace without addressing these fundamental concerns risks rendering such efforts superficial and unsustainable.
Peace, in the absence of justice and clear solutions, will remain nothing more than a distant aspiration - a pipe dream, it added.
