1st Floor Curling Coaching Camp cum C’ship underway in Yairipok

Thoubal, Mar 28 : The Amateur Curling Association of Sanaleibak, Manipur has today launched the first edition of the Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior State Level Floor Curling Coaching Camp cum Championship 2025- 26 at the multipurpose hall of Yairipok Tulihal.
The three day coaching camp cum championship was formally opened by former Wabagai AC MLA Fajur Rahim who is also the president of the Amateur Curling Association of Sanaleibak, Manipur as chief guest.
Senior vice president of the Amateur Curling Association of Sanaleibak, Manipur , Thounaojam Rameshor; Commanding Officer of 7 Madras Regiment, Andro Army Camp, Lt Col Hari Narayan Pal; Assistant Professor Mohd Ajmal of Moreh College; proprietor of Wild Enterprise Md Wahidur; proprietor of Kanglei Sanapung, Tulihal, Md Najir Ahamed and social worker Md Ajmir were also among the dignitaries who attended the inaugural function.
The championship will see 88 boys and girls from 5 districts compete for top honours in 6 categories (3 each).
Speaking at the event, former MLA and serving treasurer of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, Fajur Rahim said that the game of curling is gaining its popularity across the world.
The game involves low financial commitment and health risk, he said while emphasising on the avenues provided by games and sports to the youth. He also encouraged all the competitors to hone their skills, to dominate in the National and international competitions and bring home laurels to the State and the country.
