XIII T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket YPHU-N beat YCC by 5 wickets to earn quarterfinal berth

IMPHAL, Mar 2 : YPHU-N, Lalambung defeated YCC, Wangkhei by 5 wickets for the fourth Group C win and qualified for the quarterfinals of the XIII T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament this afternoon.
YCC won the toss and opted to bat first at Langthabal Public Ground but were dismissed for 85 runs by YPHU-N, who strolled to the winning 89 in 11.5 overs with 5 wickets to spare.
Only three YCC batters, Bishorjit (18), Loya (12) and Tomba (14) made double digit figures in the first innings that saw Jinta (3/7) and Then Then (3/19) sharing 6 wickets for YPHU-N.
Robinchandra (33) and Shantikumar (18) then made significant contributions to set up the YPHU-N win in 11.5 overs despite Itombi claiming 3 scalps (3/15).
Earlier in a Group D dead rubber match that was truncated to 12 overs an innings, NAPSA, Kha Imphal thrashed SNC, Sangaiprou by 9 wickets.
SNC posted a rousing total of 114 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 12 overs but NAPSA eased to the target in 10.3 overs with 9 wickets to spare.
Ronelkumar 36, Thawai 28 and Guna 21 led the SNC batting charge before Somorendro scored a 40-ball 73 and Simon added an unbeaten 35 off 22 balls to seal the NAPSA win.
Simon (1/14), Doren (1/25) and Pinto (1/17) picked a wicket apiece for NAPSA earlier in the first innings before Ronelkumar managed one (1/18) for SNC.
