MECS fetes Manipuri students

IMPHAL, Mar 2 : The Manipuri Elders' Consortium Shillong (MECS) has felicitated two outstanding Manipuri students for their participation in the National Space Science Symposium 2026 (NSSS 2026).
As per a release issued by MECS, the symposium was held at the North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC) from February 23 to 27, 2026.
The students honored were- Thouchom Payal Chanu, a 2nd Year student from DM College (DMU), Imphal; and Nameirakpam Dhanapriya Devi, a 2nd Year Physics student from NEHU, Shillong.
Payal was selected through Manipur University’s Regional Outreach Programme (RoP), while Dhanapriya was selected through NEHU’s RoP. MECS congratulated both students and provided certificates and monetary assistance to help cover their registration fees and travel expenses for attending the symposium, aiming to encourage their future academic pursuits.
