RSS conducts tree plantation drive

IMPHAL, Mar 30 : As part of the centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), members of the Chajing Shakha conducted a tree plantation drive at Lakpa Pureiromba Ching in Lilong Chajing, Imphal West district.
Saplings of jackfruit, yam, gooseberry, guava and tree beans were planted during the drive.
Speaking on the occasion, RSS Manipur Prant Sah Prant Pracharak Binanda Khundrakpam said that environment protection has been one of the important areas of RSS activities since 2019.
Several teams across Manipur are working to promote environmental awareness and conservation.
Referring to the RSS Pancha Parivartan initiative, he said that environmental protection is a key part of social responsibility.
As part of this effort, he highlighted the RSS' “3P formula” —plant trees, save water, and eliminate plastic use.
Binanda stressed the need to protect water sources and use water judiciously. He also pointed out the importance of reducing plastic use during community feasts, festivals, and other social gatherings, and encouraged people to use reusable alternatives such as glass and traditional utensils.
He further said that the branch members are working to strengthen green coverage and promote environmental conservation through sustained community effort.
