CM leaves for Delhi, attends Khangjeng Haraoba

IMPHAL, Mar 31: Responding to a call from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Y Khemchand left Imphal for New Delhi at 5.50 this evening along with the Commissioner (Home).
Sources said that Khemchand left for New Delhi in hurry as he was asked by Amit Shah to come to Delhi today itself.
Even though the exact reason for calling the Chief Minister is not known, Khemchand and Amit Shah may talk about the State’s law and order situation, census operations, financial position of the State and expansion of the State’s Council of Ministers to the full strength, said the sources.
Earlier in the day before leaving for New Delhi Chief Minister Yumnam Khem-chand attended the 32nd annual ritual of Khangjeng Lairemba Lairembi Haraoba at District Police Headquarters Complex, Imphal West today.
Attending the ritual ceremony, he prayed for endu- ring stability, harmony, and progress in Manipur.
In a post on Facebook, the Chief Minister said, "Today, I had the honour of attending the 32nd Annual Ritual Ceremony of Khang-jeng Lairemba Lairembi Haraoba at the District Police Headquarters Complex, Imphal West, an occasion imbued with deep sacredness and spiritual purity.
"This revered ritual, root-ed in our rich cultural and spiritual heritage, is a solemn invocation of divine blessings for peace, protection, and harmony in the year ahead. It reflects our collective faith in seeking strength and guidance to ensure that our society remains safe, resilient, and free from turmoil.
"For generations, the revered deities have stood as our eternal guardians dispelling divisive forces, safe- guarding our people, and nurturing an environment where unity, peace, and development can flourish.
"May their divine grace continue to guide Manipur towards enduring stability, harmony, and progress,"  he wrote.
