Arms seized from CCpur, Chandel

IMPHAL, Apr 10 : Security forces seized a variety of arms and ammunition from Churachandpur and Chandel district today.
In a bulletin, police stated that two individuals were arrested from T Bangla MVCP under Chura-chandpur police station along with one modified carbine, one 9mm pistol, 36 sacks suspected to contain poppy seeds weighing 1,800 Kg and two DI vehicles.
The arrested have been identified as Letjakai Haokip (32) of Sarang Tampak, Chandel, currently staying at Thingkangphai, Churachandpur and Lunkhohao Haokip (40) of V Tuisomjang, Churachandpur. In another operation, security forces recovered one AK 47 rifle, one MP5 rifle along with a magazine, four country made carbine guns along with magazines, three country made SBBL guns, four lathode guns, seven pompi mortars, five pompi shells, one suspected IED weighing around 4 Kg, 26 rounds of ammunition of different calibres and five walkie ticket sets from Taljang village, Chandel district.
