Locals of Kanglatongbi urges

IMPHAL, Apr 10 : Reacting to a case of indiscriminate firing by unidentified miscreants at Kanglatongbi on the midnight of April 9, the public of Kanglatongbi have urged law enforcement agencies and the concerned authorities to take immediate and effective measures to identify the culprits, enhance security arrangements, and ensure the safety of innocent civilians.
According to reports, stray bullets struck several buildings in the locality, with one bullet reportedly penetrating a residential house at Lower Makhan, said a press release jointly signed by the Administrative Committee, Kanglatongbi Gram Panchayat, All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union (Kanglatongbi Unit), Makhan-Kanglatongbi Naga Forum and Kanglatongbi Gorkha Youth Association.
The firing incident has caused widespread fear and panic among residents of Kanglatongbi and its adjoining areas, particularly children and elderly persons.
Stating that the general public has strongly condemned the incident, the joint press release pointed out that this is not an isolated occurrence, with similar incidents being reported in the past.
As such repeated acts pose a serious threat to public safety and disturb the fragile peace of the region, the joint press release has made an appeal to those responsible to immediately desist from such activities that spread fear and disrupt normal life.
