5th MNCA U14 Boys One Day Trophy Th Rahul blazes 150, picks two as NCA hammer AKSDO by 106 runs in tourney opener

IMPHAL, Apr 3 : NCA, Nambol upstaged AKSDO, Khangabo by 106 runs as the 5th MNCA U14 Boys One Day Trophy 2025-26 kicked off today here at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangsangbam.
Asked to bat first NCA racked up a mammoth total of 223 runs for 9 wickets courtesy of Thongam Rahul’s century and 41 extras before Thingbaijam Avinash (2/22 in 5 overs) and Thongam Rahul (2/14 in 5 overs) led in restricting AKSDO to 117/7 in reply.
Thongam Rahul blasted 15 fours and 11 sixes on the way to his 92-ball 150 as he played a lone hand today for the Nambol side in an innings that saw Khundrakpam Lamnganba (3/31 in 3 overs) and Khundrakpam Lanchenba (2/42 in 2 overs) of AKSDO sharing 5 wickets.
Ngangom Likash on 17 was the other double digit run getter for NCA as Khundrakpam Boiton (1/23), Elangbam Malemnganba (1/27) and Ningthoujam Tomthin (1/28) chipping in with a wicket apiece for AKSDO.
Chasing the big total, AKSDO ended up gathering 117/7. Ranbir Thokchom 28, Shailesh Khundrakpam 15 and Khundrakpam Lanchenba 10 were the double digit run getters for the team while NCA bowlers conceded 48 extras Chanam Bangkim-chandra (1/28) and M Thoithoiba (1/19) of NCA were also among the wickets for NCA in this innings.
Thongam Rahul who shone with both the bat and ball and helped NCA seal their first Group (A) league match was adjudged player of the match.
As many as 27 teams clustered into 6 groups are participating in the tournament organised by the Manipur Cricket Association.
