SNC, TCMDC script comfortable wins in Mema Memorial Veteran T-20 Cricket Tourney

IMPHAL, Apr 3 : SNC, Sangaiprou thumped YUCC, Kwakeithel by 6 wickets and TCMDC, Thongju overwhelmed SHADOW, Thangmeiband by 69 runs to open their league campaign in the 3rd Khomdram (O) Hijam Mema Devi Memorial T-20 Veteran Cricket Tournament on winning notes.
In the Group A match staged this morning, SNC chose to field first and restricted YUCC to 135/8 before cruising to the winning 138/4 in 19 overs.
Asked to bat first, YUCC had a slow start but rode on Netaji’s late 29-ball 42 quickfire to help the team post 135 runs. For SNC, W Rajen (2/29) and Ranendrajit (2/11) shared four wickets while Ashajit (1/12) and Ronelkumar (1/9) picked a wicket apiece.
In reply, Guna scored a 47-ball 55 before Ronelkumar scored an unbeaten 60 off 47 balls to seal the victory for SNC with 1 over left to spare. Raju (2/17), Netrajit (1/21) and Manikumar (1/25) were among the wickets for YUCC in this innings.
Ronelkumar of SNC who shone with the bat was declared man of the match.
Meanwhile in the Group C match, TCMDC rode on significant contributions from Anand 34 not out off 25 balls, Gulshananda 33 off 41 balls, N Sanjit 28 off 23 balls and Brajakumar 17 not out off 6 balls to erect a competitive total of 151 runs of 5 wickets.
TCMDC then restricted SHADOW to 82/7 courtesy of impressive bowling performances from Bijesh (4/11 in 4 overs) and Sanjit (2/20 in 4 overs).
Bijesh who enjoyed a four wicket haul to trouble SHADOW batters in the chase was named man of the match.
