IMPHAL, Apr 7: In view of the suspension of internet services by the Government of Manipur in the five districts of Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal and Kakching, the Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) has announced that no electricity connection will be disconnected due to negative balance in smart prepaid meters during the period of internet suspension.
According to a notification issued by the MSPDCL General Manager (Commercial) Ng Kirankumar, all smart prepaid meters will be allowed to operate in ‘friendly/credit mode’, permitting continued usage of electricity supply.
It said that this arrangement will remain in force until restoration of internet services or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
