IMPHAL, Apr 8: Condemning the Tronglaobi bomb attack which claimed the lives of two innocent children leaving their mother with grievous injuries, the All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO), Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF), Committee on Human Rights (COHR), Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur (PLMPAM) and All Manipur Women Voluntary Organisation (AMAWOVA) have demanded the Indian Government to immediately cease its "State sponsored terrorism and proxy war".
Speaking to the media at AMUCO office in Kwakeithel on behalf of its sister organisations, AMUCO president Sanjoy Sorokhaibam said the Tronglaobi attack was "premeditated and engineered".
He expressed suspicion about the involvement of the Central Government and political rivalry playing a role in the unfortunate incident.
The five organisations also strongly condemned the deaths and injuries caused by the indiscriminate firing by CRPF jawans on protesting crowds in the aftermath of the bomb attack, he added.
The AMUCO president went on to accuse the India Government of executing State sponsored terrorism and providing training, weapons and other logistics through agencies/organisations to carry out a proxy war in Manipur.
From May 3, 2023 onwards it has used Kuki SoO militants to wage war in the State, he further alleged.
The five sister groups will continue to stand firm against "occupying forces" and their long standing designs to keep the State under "occupation".
Sanjoy Sorokhaibam has called for Central Security Forces who do not recognize their responsibilities and duty to return home while also questioning the purpose of State security forces who are unable to protect civilians.
Attributing the prevailing unrest to lapses on the part of the Central and State Government, he has called for immediate cessation of "State sponsored terrorism and proxy war" warning that the five organisations would launch intense agitations otherwise.
