IMPHAL, Apr 8: The curfew imposed a day after two children were killed in Bishnupur's Tronglaobi has affected normal life across five districts. Shops remained closed and public transport came to a complete halt affecting daily commute and businesses.
Security forces were destroyed in many areas including Ima Keithel, Malom, Waheng Leikai and many places across Imphal. The indefinite curfew was imposed yesterday to prevent escalation of conflict and curb violent protests against the killing of the two children. The two children, Oinam Tomthin (5 years) and Oinam Yaisana (5 months) were killed in a bomb attack carried out by Kuki militants. There were widespread protests against the killing across several districts.
