IMPHAL, May 11 : The All Manipur Excise Employees Welfare Association has resolved to launch an indefinite cease-work strike from May 18 owing to the Government's failure to fulfill its commitment regarding the implementation of Revised Pay (ROP), 2016 for Excise employees.
In a notice, the All Manipur Excise Employees Welfare Association informed that despite repeated requests, representation, and assurances from the concerned authorities, the long pending demand for the implementation of ROP has remained unaddressed.
As the prolonged delay has caused dissatisfaction among the employees of the Department, the Association resolved to launch the indefinite cease-work strike until the Government takes concrete steps to implement the promised Revised Pay, 2016 with notional effect from January 1, 2024.
The All Manipur Excise Employees Welfare Association has also demanded extension of ration money and benefit of 13 months' pay to Excise personnel at par with Police personnel.
