World Junior Wushu C’ship double medallist Devikarani feted

IMPHAL, May 12 : Macha Leima Society today felicitated  Konthoujam Devikarani who has done the Nation and the State proud by securing two medals at the 10th World Junior Wushu Championship, with cash and kind in a solemn function today.
Devikarani, who is a class VI student of the school, won a silver medal in Taijijian event and a bronze medal in Taijiquan event at the championship that was hosted by China in Tianjin from March 23 to 31.
The programme was attended by members of Macha Leima Society, Macha Leima School Committee and school staff who also extended cash reward and other gifts to the promising wushu athlete during the event held at Pakhangba Pukhri Mapal, Palace Compound.
Devikarani is the daughter of Konthoujam Deven and Konthoujam Ongbi Bijeta from Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal.
