IMPHAL, May 15 : On behalf of 31 associations, 1350 Churches and 125 fellowships, the Manipur Baptist Convention (MBC) has fervently appealed for all innocent civilian hostages to be released immediately and unconditionally, ensuring they are safely returned to their families.
In a press release, MBC has called upon Churches, civil society organizations, community leaders, and all peace-loving citizens to stand united for peace, reconciliation, justice, and the protection of human dignity.
MBC has further urged the Government and the authorities concerned to take urgent and effective measures to secure the safe release of innocent civilians, restore peace and normalcy, and strengthen confidence among all communities.
Noting that the people of Manipur have lived together for generations with shared history and mutual coexistence, it has prayed and appealed for such inhuman incidents to never happen again in the history of Manipur.
Violence and hostility can never bring lasting peace or solutions to any conflict, said the press release.
