IMPHAL, May 17 : The Zeliangrong United Committee Manipur (ZUCM) has questioned whether the Government is deliberately not tracing the six abducted Naga men to keep Manipur in a state of unrest.
Speaking to the media, ZUCM president Maibon Phaomei said that armed Kuki groups targeting all communities in the State to press their demands is not an appropriate course of action.
He urged the Kuki groups to stop targeting civilians and present their demands directly to the Government.
He expressed concern that the Kuki groups’ lack of response to appeals for a hostage exchange has raised fears about the safety of the Naga civilians in their custody.
