8 days summer break

IMPHAL, May 21: The period of summer vacation for schools affiliated to BOSEM and COHSEM in the valley districts has been curtailed and revised to 8 days only.
The revised summer vacation will begin from June 21 to June 28.
Earlier, the summer vacation was scheduled from June 8 to June 27.
The period of the summer vacation has been curtailed to compensate for the lost working days and ensure completion of the academic schedule, said the Secretariat Education (S) Department.
The revision has been necessitated due to disruption of academic activities in the valley districts during the period from April 7 to April 26, resulting in loss of instructional days, said the Secretariat.
The revised summer vacation shall be applicable only to schools located in the valley districts. Schools in the hill districts shall continue to follow the existing academic calendar, it said.
