IMPHAL, Jun 13 : The Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur has raised concern over alleged incidents of students copying from mobile phones during undergraduate examinations, including BSc, BA and BCom courses, at four colleges.
Addressing the media at Keishampat today, DESAM secretary general Thoudam Shyamjai claimed that they conducted an inspection drive at some examination centres yesterday and found students using unfair means in the presence of invigilators at Thoubal College, Waikhom Mani Girls’ College, Pole Star College, and Kha Manipur College, all under Manipur University.
He demanded that these colleges be debarred from functioning as examination centres for a period of three years.
Stating that the use of unfair means during examinations has seriously undermined academic integrity, he called for strict action against the institutions concerned as well as erring officials.
He also said that the Director and Commissioner of Higher Secondary Education should be replaced, alleging negligence on their part.
Shyamjai announced that the Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur will continue its inspection drive.
