BISHNUPUR, Jun 5: Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and First Lady Jyoti Bhalla led a tree plantation programme at Keibul Lampak National Park, marking World Environment Day today.
The Governor and the First lady planted saplings at the KLNP's 2nd Inspection Bungalow on the theme "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam".
The Governor and the First Lady also took a boat ride and later visited Sendra.
SP Bishnupur district, Ksh Ravikumar, Park and Sanctuary DCF Laisham Biramangol Singh, district administration and Forest staff took part in the tree plantation programme.
Similar tree plantation programmes were also held at Khongjaingamba Ching, Chingmei Ching and several areas of Keibul, organised by Forest Department and local clubs, self help groups and students of Chingmei Upper primary School students.
