YWC beat LCC for third straight Group D win, assured of quarterfinal berth

IMPHAL, Jun 5 : YWC defeated LCC by 31 runs for the third Group D win on the trot in the ongoing 3rd Khomdram Ongbi Hijam Mema Devi Memorial T20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament. The win also assured them a quarterfinal berth with a match left to play against YPHU-W.
They elected to bat first and posted 115 runs for 8 wickets and restricted LCC to 84/9 to seal the comfortable win.
Prakashmani 35 and Tejkumar 24 were the top run getters for YWC today as Rojeshkumar (2/15) and Prakashmani (3/23) shared 5 wickets while maintaining a very fine economy.
Michael (2/12) and Nandakumar (2/8) led the LCC bowling attack earlier before Kenedy’s 50-ball 45 went in vain.
Prakashmani who shone with both the bat and the ball was adjudged man of the match.
Later in the day, KSDO, Kyamgei raised their quarterfinal hopes by defeating YCC, Wangkhei by 6 wickets for the third win in four matches.
YCC opted to bat first but posted a paltry total of 78 runs for 9 wickets and KSDO chased down the target in 13.3 overs with 6 wickets to spare.
