Imphal, Jul 15 : Emphasising the importance of transparency in public recruitment, Chief Minister Y Khemchand has said that a transparent recruitment system strengthens public confidence in governance and public institutions.
The Chief Minister made the remark while attending the 14th Foundation Day celebration of Creative Circle Coaching Institute and the felicitation programme for successful candidates of the Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) 2022 examination at Hotel Imolesh, Old Lambulane, Imphal, today.
Speaking as the chief guest, he lauded the institute for its  commitment to nurturing civil service aspirants.
He said the institute's continued efforts in coaching and mentoring candidates for various competitive examinations have contributed significantly to producing capable officers for Manipur.
Addressing the newly selected MPSC 2022 candidates, the Chief Minister asked whether they had any doubts about the transparency of the recruitment process.
Receiving a unanimous "No" in response, he said transparency and fairness have remained the Government's foremost priority.
He further stated that he deliberately refrained from contacting or meeting the Chairman of the Manipur Public Service Commission before the declaration of the examination results.
He added that he congratulated the Chairman only after the results were announced to ensure that the entire recruitment process remained transparent, impartial and free from any external influence.

The Chief Minister also informed that the BJP-led State Government has implemented the Chief Minister's Scholarship Scheme in the State for Civil Services with an annual allocation of Rs 28 crore.

Speaking on the occasion, retired IAS officer RK Nimai Singh congratulated the successful candidates and urged them to uphold integrity, honesty and dedication throughout their career.
He advised them to stay away from corruption, drug abuse and other unethical practices that could tarnish the image of the civil services.
