“Athoubashingi Khongul Liba State Level Half Marathon” planned on Patriots’ Day

IMPHAL, Jul 17 : A distance run titled “Athoubashingi Khongul Liba State Level Half Marathon” has been planned on August 13 in line with the Patriots’ Day observation.
The run is jointly organised by Patriots’ Day Observation Committee Manipur, Lamyanba Hijam Irabot Ningshing Lup, United Club Yaiskul, Yaiskul Athletic Club and Celin Digital in collaboration with Athletics Association of Manipur.
Announcing the half marathon at Manipur Press Club, advisor to the Patriots’ Day Observation Committee, Dilip said that the event is organised to recall Manipur’s past independence  before the British Annexation in 1891 and brave forefathers who fought to preserve the independence.
The event will pay tribute to the State patriots, he said while adding that the titular king of Tripura will attend the closing function of the run.
The 21-km run carries a cash prize of Rs 30,000; Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 for top three athletes across the men and women sections besides consolation prizes for other athletes, he said.
Entry form (Rs 200) can be had from the office of Patriots’ Day Observation Committee or the Athletics Association of Manipur, he said while adding that the last date of form submission is August 8.
He also sought support from all sections of the society to make the run successful.
