Birchandra Singh Football Academy PAMYAL FC, MSC, MTSU advance

IMPHAL, Jan 14: PAMYAL FC, MSC and MTSU claimed victories against their opponents in the ongoing State Level 2nd Under-10 Th Birchandra Singh Football Academy Tournament, today at TBSFA Sports Complex, Taobungkhok. In the first match today, Lamyanba’s strike in the 20th minute helped UUFC, Uripok hold MUC, Maibakhul 1-1. MUC’s goal was scored by Ch Ratanbi in the early 2nd minute. Th Samson of UUFC was booked during the match. In the second match of the day, PAMYAL FC, Patsoi blanked TBSFA-B, Taobungkhok by a margin of 2 goals to nil. The two winning goals of PAMYAL FC were scored by H Prem and I Santosh in the 16th and 52nd minute respectively.In another match, MSC, Malom downed TBSFA-C, Taobungkhok by a margin of 4 goals to two. K Monex, K Alex and N Ranjan scored the winning goals of MSC in the 5th, 30th and 33rd minute respectively. The fourth goal of MSC came through an own goal from TBSFA-C player L Nganba in the 27th minute. On the other hand, a double from Kh Phonen in the 18th and 28th minute gave two goals to TBSFA-C. In the fourth and last match of the day, MTSU, Malom registered a comfortable 3-1 win over TFA, Thinungei. An early goal from Santoshkumar in the first minute followed by his second goal in the 22nd minute and a strike from Suraj in the 18th minute gave the three winning goals to MTSU. On the other hand, the lone goal of TFA was scored by N Dhanabir in the 5th minute

Veteran T20 Cricket Tourney begins

IMPHAL, Jan 13 : The 4th Manipur Veteran T20 Cricket Tournament, organised by the Manipur Veteran Cricket Association (MVCA) began today at Langthabal Ground, Imphal West. The opening ceremony of the tournament was graced by Manipur Cricket Association (MCA) vice president Ch Chaoba Singh and MVCA president N Indrajit Singh as chief guest and president respectively. In today’s opening match, Model Club-A, Chingamakha clinched a narrow 5-run win against Imphal West Veteran Cricket Club (IWVCC). Opting to bat first Model Club-A set a 90-run target with all men down in 18.4 overs. Notable scorers Samu and H Sunil struck 17 and 14 runs respectively for Model Club. IWVCC’s Basanta scalped four wickets while Gyanenjan pulled three wickets. In reply, IWVCC went down chasing the target at 84 runs in 19.4 overs. Sanjoy was the highest scorer of IWVCC as he scored 16 runs off 21 balls followed by Dhamen (12). Model Club’s Samu grabbed three wickets while Suresh, Cherish took two wickets each. The man of the match title went to Samu of MC-A. Tomorrow, DSU will play with NAPSA.

Birchandra Singh Football Academy Tournament TBSFA-A blank Lions Club; TFA win

IMPHAL, Jan 13 : TBSFAA, Taobungkhok and TFA, Thinungei advanced in the ongoing State Level 2nd Under-10 Th Birchandra Singh Football Academy Tournament, today at TBSFA Sports Complex, Taobungkhok. In the first match, PAMYAL FC, Patosi and MSC, Malom were held 22 draw. H Rohit and N Rohit scored in the 23rd and 41st minute for PAMYAL FC while MSC witnessed their goals from K Alex and K Monex in the 25th and 36th respectively. In the second match today, L Dhakeshore scored a double as TBSFA-A, Taobungkhok blanked Lions Club, Nagamapal. L Dhakeshore found his brace in the 24th and 29th minute. In the third match, TFA, Thinungei registered a comfortable 3-1 win over MTSU, Malom. The match began with K Rekage scoring the opening goal of TFA in the 7th minute. However MTSU quickly found the equaliser in the next minute through Johnson to make the scoreline 1-1. Minutes later, in-form TFA witnessed two more goals after S Moramba scored a brace in the 29th and 36th minute, making the final scoreline 3-1. In the under-13 group match, Nongpok FA, Nongpok Senjenbam blanked HUFA, Heingang by a margin of 2 goals to nil. N Hitler and A Janush scored the winning goals of Nongpok FA in the 7th and 24th minute respectively against a hapless HUFA.

Santosh Trophy 2016 – AMFA names 41 probables

Imphal, Jan 10 : The All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) has named 41 probables for a trial cum coaching selection to prepare the State team for the Santosh Trophy 2016.
The name of the probables  are –

27 AR beat Longreijang FC, enter SFs

Jiribam , Jan 8 : 27 Assam Rifles, Kadamtala registered an easy 3-0 win against Longreijang F C  in the first quarterfinal match of the ongoing 25th KC Mallick Memorial Football Tournament 2015, organised by the All Jiribam Sports Association (AJSA), Jiribam, today at Jiribam Govt Higher Secondary School playground.
In the first quarterfinal league round match today, 27 Assam Rifles, Kadamtala dominated the match with better ball possession.
In the first half, 27 Assam Rifles took a comfortable 2-0 lead after Victor Raina found a brace in the 20th and 22th minute.
The third winning goal of 27 Assam Rifles came in the additional 90+3rd minute after BK Goutam found the net.
S Samananta of 27 Assam Rifles  and Longreijang FC’s Robert were booked with a yellow card in the 44th and 83rd minute for unsporting behaviours during the match.
Tomorrow in the second match of the quarterfinal league round, Yaipha Lamjing Club, Dibong Khunou will clash with Digger HSC.

MCA 2nd Plate Cricket Tournament – SCCC outclass YWC by 165 runs

Imphal, Jan 8 : SCCC, Singjamei outclassed YWC, Patsoi by 165 runs in the 2nd Plate Tournament, organised by the Manipur Cricket Association (MCA), today at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangshangbam.
SCCC won the toss and opted to bat first and set a 194 runs target with seven wickets down.
SCCC’s Kishan went impressive as he struck a century in 66 balls by hitting seven fours and five sixes.
He was the only notable scorer of the winning team.
In reply, YWC were restricted at just 28 runs in  9.1 overs with Bob (6) as the highest scorer of their team.
A fine bowling from Ajay saw him scalping five wickets while Sandeep and Ibochou took two wickets each.
The man of the match title went to Kishan and Ajay of SCCC.
Tomorrow, PCC, Mayai Koibi will play with WCA, Tera Yengkhom Leirak.

31st N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament – MPSC-A, Khurai-A set up final clash

Imphal, Jan 8 : Manipur Sports Police Club (MPSC)-A and Khurai Polo Club (KPC) -A will play in
the final match of the ongoing 31st N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament, organised by the Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association (MHRPA), on January 10 at 1 pm at Imphal Polo Ground.
In the first semifinal match today, MPSC-A defeated MPSC-B by a margin of 9 goals to five.
In the first chukker, H Abungkhuman, S Bimol and M Jawan scored a goal each as MPSC-A took a comfortable 3-0 lead.
MPSC-B pulled back a goal in the second chukker after Th Kaoba found the target. However, two goals from H Abungkhuman and an own goal from MPSC-B made the scoreline 5-1 in favour of MPSC-A in the end of second chukker.
MPSC-A witnessed three goals through S Bimol (2) and Th Ranjit (1) in the third chukker.
In the final chukker, S Bimol scored the ninth winning goal of MPSC-A.
On the other hand, a double from Th Kaoba and a strike each from Suresh and Kh Nongpoknganba gave four goals to MPSC-B.
In the second semifinal match today, Khurai Polo Club (KPC)-A edged past Eastern Students Club (ESC)-A by a margin of 6 goals to five.
In today’s thrilling match, KPC-A took a narrow 3-2 lead in the first chukker after P Jotin hit a double and P Ojit scored a goal.
On the other hand, the two goals of ESC-A were found by Th Jacob.
After the second chukker went goalless, O Roger and N Hovi contributed a goal each for KPC-A in the third chukker to make the scoreline 5-2.
In the final chukker, P Ojit scored the sixth winning goal of KPC-A while a treble from ESC-A’s L Thomson made the scoreline 5-6 against KPC-A.

31st N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament-MPSC-A,B; ESC-A, KPC-A secure SF berth

Imphal, Jan 7 : Manipur Sports Club (MPSC) – A and B, Eastern Students Club (ESC)-A and Khurai Polo Club (KPC)-A secured their semi-final berths after defeating their opponents in the ongoing 31st N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament, organised by the Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association (MHRPA), today at Imphal Polo Ground.
In today’s quarterfinal match, MPSC-A downed Khurai Polo Club – B by a margin of 8 goals to three.
The winning goals of MPSC-A were scored by S Abungcha (1), M Jawan (3), Th Ranjit (1), S Bimol (1), H Abungkhuman (1) and an own goal from a player of KPC-B.
On the other side, KPC-B witnessed their goal from Th Premkumar (2) and Ch Premjit (1).
In another match today, MPSC-B edged past Ibudhou Thangjing Polo Club (ITPC)-A by a margin of 6 goals to five.
Th Pradeepkumar struck home five goals alone while I Khaba scored the sixth goal of MPSC-B.
On the other side, S Girimohon, M Manihar, O Samarjit and M Dolen scored  a goal each while an own goal from Kh Tombi of MPSC-B gave five goals to ITPC-A.
In yesterday’s match, Eastern Students Club (ESC)-A defeated MPSC-C by a margin of 4 goals to one.
K Samananda, Th Jacob, H Mohendro and L Thomson scored a goal each for ESC-A while Vivekananda was the lone scorer of MPSC-C.
In the second quarterfinal match yesterday, Khurai Polo Club (KPC)-A thrashed X Polo Club-A by a margin of 9 goals to one.
N Hovi Achumi hit a treble while P Jotin, P Ojit,  and O Roger scored a double each giving nine goals to KPC-A.
On the other hand, L Tolongkhomba scored the solitary goal of X Polo Club-A.

13th Veteran Cricket Tournament – MC-A, CHAMP set for final clash

Imphal, Jan 7 : Model Club-A, Chingamakha and CHAMP, Khagempali will meet in the final showdown of the 13th Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament on January 9 at Langthabal Ground, Imphal West.
In the second semi-final match organised  by the Manipur Veteran Cricket Association (MVCA) today, Model Club-A claimed a narrow 12 runs win over Cyclone, Thangmeiband.
Batting first, Model Club scored 144 runs in the allotted 30 overs with nine wickets down.
Mujibur Rehman was the highest scorer as he struck 41 runs off 66 balls.
Cyclone’s Rajesh went impressive as he took four wickets.
Batting second, Cyclone failed to chase the target as they went down at 132 runs in 29.5 overs.
Hokendro (44) and Arun (27) were the notable players.
Prem and Iqbal of Model Club-A scalped 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
The man of the match title was lifted by Prem of Model Club-A.
In the first semi-final match yesterday, CHAMP registered an easy 8-wicket win against KSC, New Lambuland.
Batting first KSC scored 99 runs in 30 overs.
In reply, CHAMP scored 101 runs in the 16.3 overs with two wickets down.
