IMPHAL, Jun 25: Medical team of 2 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under aegis of HQ IGAR (South) saved the life of one snake bite victim on June 23. The victim named, Samuel (15) of Khangabok, Thoubal district was bitten by a snake while playing and was immediately rushed to the unit hospital of 2 Assam Rifles. The victim was readily attended by the medical team and necessary first aid was administered. Later the victim was referred to District Hospital, Thoubal for further management, according to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S).

IMPHAL, Jun 20:11 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) conducted a lecture on social issues at COB Chongjang.
Villagers from Chongjang and Tibongmol took part in the lecture given by the COB Commander with special emphasis on fighting corruption, dowry system, crime against women, child labour, human trafficking, smuggling and other illegal activities. All attendants were advised and motivated to avoid indulgence in such activities and further educate their relatives and acquaintances, informed a statement issued by PRO of IGAR (S).

IMPHAL, May 31 : 29 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) has installed 6 KVA wind and solar hybrid power plant at Molanghat village, Chandel under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) for the year 2016-17.

Community cum convention hall handed over to villagers

IMPHAL, May 29 : A newly constructed community cum convention hall at Awongtang, Ukhrul district was inaugurated and handed over to the villagers by Brigadier Sandeep Mohla, DIG, HQ, 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) on May 27.
Awongtang has a sizeable population of ex-servicemen and the project was also welcomed by them.
The local population including the ex-servicemen have conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to the Assam Rifles for their unstinted support.

IMPHAL, May 18 : 11 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) conducted a cleanliness drive in and around Mission Veng villages, Moreh on May 16.
The social service was organised with an aim to bring awareness on clean and hygienic lifestyle. Residents of the area enthusiastically joined hands with personnel of 11 Assam Rifles and participated in the drive.

IMPHAL, Apr 24:5 JAK RIF of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) has organised a medical camp at Kangmong Langoljam Awang Leikai, Kangmong village, Imphal West district on April 23.
