‘Know your Assam Rifles camp’

IMPHAL, Aug 14 : 2 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised ‘Know your Assam Rifles and Army’ for the students of Southern Tangkhul Naga Baptist Association (STNBA) High School, Irong of Thoubal district today, coveyed PRO IGAR (S) in a press release.

Medical camp held

IMPHAL, Jul 29: A medical camp was organised by Sendra (Loktak) Battalion of Assam Rifles at Oinam village under Thanga constituency today. The medical team comprising of RMO and associated nursing staff attended the patients including young children, ladies and old village folk. All patients were given free medicines along the advisory on how to avoid diseases. The villagers who have been effected by the rising waters of Loktak lake and currently staying in temporary relief camps extended their heartfelt gratitude for this noble gesture. A total of 134 persons including 53 males, 69 females and 12 children attended the camp, informed a statement issued by the PIB Defence, Imphal.

Fresh drinking water provided to flood-affected people

IMPHAL, Jul 16:Troops of 42 Assam Rifles at Komlakhong Chingthi post under Mayang Imphal constituency provided clean drinking water to the people of Phaugakchau village on July 15.
The actions of the unit have come at a time when there has been no supply of drinking water for last two days forcing locals to consume polluted water.
The people of these areas have been affected by Manipur river overflowing its banks which has inundated the adjoining areas, according to a statement issued by PIB, Defence, Imphal.

Assam Rifles provide flood relief

IMPHAL, Jul 2: Assam Rifles personnel provided support and relief to the flood affected area of Mayang Imphal where the incessant rain over the last few days resulted in multiple breaches along the river banks of Imphal river namely the area of Mayang Imphal and inundating approximately 30 houses of the nearby villages.

IMPHAL, Jun 28: 29 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a Church prayer with civilians of Joupi and surrounding villages on June 25 at Battalion Headquarters Joupi with the aim to strengthen bond with local populace. It was attended by Commandant along with troops of 29 Assam Rifles and village chief/secretaries of 16 villages. A total of 46 civilians were in attendance. The Church programme included prayer, hymns and gospel messages by village chiefs and troops of ‘Uttam Untees,’ according to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S).

IMPHAL, Jun 25: Medical team of 2 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under aegis of HQ IGAR (South) saved the life of one snake bite victim on June 23. The victim named, Samuel (15) of Khangabok, Thoubal district was bitten by a snake while playing and was immediately rushed to the unit hospital of 2 Assam Rifles. The victim was readily attended by the medical team and necessary first aid was administered. Later the victim was referred to District Hospital, Thoubal for further management, according to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S).

IMPHAL, Jun 20:11 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) conducted a lecture on social issues at COB Chongjang.
Villagers from Chongjang and Tibongmol took part in the lecture given by the COB Commander with special emphasis on fighting corruption, dowry system, crime against women, child labour, human trafficking, smuggling and other illegal activities. All attendants were advised and motivated to avoid indulgence in such activities and further educate their relatives and acquaintances, informed a statement issued by PRO of IGAR (S).

IMPHAL, May 31 : 29 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) has installed 6 KVA wind and solar hybrid power plant at Molanghat village, Chandel under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) for the year 2016-17.
