Bishnupur: A computer Institute, NEBRDA Information Technology which is certified jointly by National Council for promotion of Urdu Language and NEILIT under the supervision of Ministry of Information Technology, was inaugurated today at Kwakta bazar today.
The North Eastern Bio-Economic Rural Development Activities (NEBRDA) Information Technology institute offers a one year diploma course on Computer Application Business Accounting- Multilingual Desk Top publishing (CABA-MDTP), reports our correspondent.
Secretary of institute Kh M Rahman stated that the running session has a total of 50 students even though the National Council for promotion of Urdu Language has set the limit to 40.
He further stated that the course follows two session, one which begins from January and the other from July.

Bishnupur: The All Manipur Youth Development Association has stated that the farmers are still deprived of the necessary materials despite the assurance made by Agriculture Minister to provide fertilisers and other required materials to farmers.
A press release issued by secretary of the association asserted that around 200 bags of fertilizers are being stockpiled in the Department godown without distribution despite the Minister’s frequent assurance.
It urged the State Government to look into the matter since the people are losing their trust and beliefs in the Government due to frequent negligence.
It further stated that depriving the farmers of the said materials at such an important time for plantation and agriculture will only result in further distrust towards the Government.
The association questioned the lack of responsibility on the part of the Government in providing items related to farming like fertilisers, pumps, chemicals etc to the farmers at the right time.

Social service held

Bishnupur: Volunteers of NSS cell and its units from different colleges and schools under Moirang conducted social service at INA complex, Moirang and Moirang bazar premises today.
A rally, disseminating awareness on cleanliness, was also held from INA complex till Laikhurembi bridge.
Volunteers of Moirang College NSS Cell, Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School NSS Unit, Advance Intermediate College NSS Unit and Kumbi College NSS Unit jointly organised the campaign as a part of “Swachhta Pakhwada” under the supervision of Moirang NSS Manipur University and State Liason officer.
SP, Bishnupur Jogeshchandra Haobijam and other Bishnupur police officials along with coordinators of NSS Cell and Unit attended the programme, reports our correspondent.

Aadhaar enrolment begins

Bishnupur: ZEO zone IV, Bishnupur district Nepram Tikendrajit inaugurated an Aadhaar enrolment programme at Balaram Khul Upper Primary School, Nambol today.
District e-Governance Society (DeGS) Bishnupur, CSC-SPV manipur, Department of Information technology (DIT) and ZEO, Bishnupur jointly conducted the drive which will be held till August 28.

Bishnupur: Students of Bishnupur Higher Secondary School thronged the office of DC, Bishnupur after they were denied meeting with the Director regarding the prolonged demand of the students to fulfil the needs of the school.

Free medical camp held

Bishnupur: Regarding the aftermath of the recent flood, a free medical camp was held at Moirang Lamkhai Khoyol Keithel under Moirang Municipal Council by Directorate of Health Services and National Health Mission Manipur, JNIMS and CMO Bishnupur today.
Health Minister L Jayantakumar Singh, MLA of Moirang AC P Saratchandra Singh, Medical Director Karam Lokendro, Additional P Shyamsunder and CMO Bishnupur Dr H Babychand Devi along with other medical officials inspected the camp.
A total of 22 doctors including many specialist for medicine, gynaecology, ENT etc attended to 1700 people during the camp.

BISHNUPUR, Aug 6:The Moirang rural hospital which has been downgraded to the level of a Community Health Centre is on the verge of getting flooded as the road and footpath around the hospital has been already flooded and the water is about to sweep inside the building, reports our correspondent.

PMGDISHA training  launched

Bishnupur: The Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan (PMGDISHA) was launched by District Manager of District eGovernance Society, Bishnupur Moirang CD Block Prashanta Oinam at Tronglaobi Awang Common Service Centre (CSC) today where a total of 190 people were also registered at the Centre.

Bishnupur: Certificates were distributed to the trainees and participants of a two day training programme organised by Textile Sector Skill Council Manipur yesterday.
The training programme was conducted as a part of the Skill India project.
PMKVY and NSDC under the supervision of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship distributed the certificates in a simple gathering organised by Nachou Handloom Cluster at Nachou Kha community hall.
A total of 100 trainees were distributed with the certificates.
Nachou Zilla Parishad member Th Dilip Meitei who took part in the gathering urged the trainees to come together and boost the handloom and handicraft in the State.

Tree plantation prog held

Bishnupur: A tree plantation programme on the theme “Save Forest, Save Life” was conducted by Kendriya Vidyalaya, NHPC, Loktak yesterday where many tree saplings were planted at the office premises.

Bishnupur: In view of the rise of endemic diseases in the region as a result of the recent flood, a free medical camp was held at Kumbi bazar, Gouri Mandop, Bishnupur district today.
