Training cum workshop organised

Jiribam: A one day training cum workshop on National Deworming day was held at the conference hall of Zonal Education Office (ZEO), Jiribam today.
The programme was graced by Assistant Inspector of School S Krishna Das as chief guest while ZEO in charge, Jiribam Md Hafiz Uddin Khan as functional president of the event.
Dr N Soroja Devi who attended the programme as a resource person stressed on the benefits and importance of providing Deworming tablets (Albendazole) to children and students.

Mass protest meeting

Jiribam: The All Jiribam Linguistics Minority People’s Organization (AJLMPO), a conglomerate body of Linguistics Minorities People’s of Jiribam today organised a mass protest meeting against the reservation demand of Jiribam AC which is presently demanded by the Kangleipak Students Association (KSA).

JIRIBAM, Aug 4:A 7 IRB Jawan was found dead inside a universal toilet near a bazar in Jiribam, today evening.
The person has been identified as Usham Basanta Singh (29), s/o U Kesho Singh of Keirak Mamang Leikai.
The cause of death is still unknown till the filing of this report.

Jiribam: UTLA/UTLF (MoU) has appealed every organisation to refrain from conducting any unwanted incidents like abducting or torturing and extortion in the areas from Jiirbam to Tamenglong, Vangai Ranges.
A press release issued by general secretary of ULTA/ULTF stated that occurrence of such incidents in the area could bring inconveniences to the people of the area.

Jiribam: The teachers of Jiribam Government Higher Secondary School who faild to get MGEL (CPIS) have decided to cease work from tomorrow, July 31.
Altogether nine teachers of the school of various subjects, namely English, Political Science, Commerce, Chemistry, Physics, Zoology have not been given the benfit till now.
The teachers pointed out that the State Government has not done anything to ease the suffering of the teachers even after the teacehrs came to Imphal to urge the authority concerned.
The teachers further copnveyed that they will cease work from tomorrow until the authrotiy concerned take up necessary steps to provide the MGEL (CPIS).

Jiribam: The Tribal Rights Demand Committee (TRDC), Jiribam, expressed its dissatisfaction over the declaration of reservation seat for general category for the coming Zilla Parishad election at Jiribam District, stated a press release issued by the chairman of the committee today.
It added that on July 24, the screening for the reserved seat was conducted at DC office, Porompat and the quota was placed for the ST seat at Hilghat Circle and SC seat at Barak Circle.
However, due to complaint by some individuals, the decision was revoked and another screening was done after which the two seats were placed for general quota which is against the interest of tribal, it alleged.
It further added claimed that the State Government failed to recognize the presence of tribals by cancelling the reservation seat of ST and added that the committee will not remain a mute spectator to the issue.
The committee further appealed to the authority concerned to look into the matter and initiate other alternative arrangement for the tribals for the coming Zilla Parishad election.

Jiribam: The All Jiribam Linguistics Minority People’s Organisation (AJLMPO), Jiribam, a conglomerate body of all the minorities people of Jiribam held a meeting today at Chandranathpur Pradhan Bazaar, Jiribam.
The body appealed to the people of Jiribam for maintaining peace and tranquillity in the ensuing election for the larger interest and smooth conduct of the coming election of local self government.
The Linguistics minority people’s organization also extended their greetings to all the intending candidates of the election.

Sit in protest staged

Jiribam: The Kangleipak Students Association (KSA) , Jiribam District Council, staged a sit in protest, today, in-front of the Jiribam Higher Secondary school, Jiribam, demanding the reservation of eight Assembly Constituencies including Jiribam Assembly Constituency for the indigenous people of Manipur.

Jiribam, Jul 24:The teachers of Jiribam Government Higher Secondary School left for Imphal yesterday in order to urge the authority concerned to take up necessary steps to provide the Employment Identification Number (EIN) for the teachers as well as other benefits.

Awareness prog held

Jiribam :A one day awareness programme on “Prospects of Education in Economic and Social Development” was held today at Jiri Ima Meira Paibi Apunba Lup (JIMPAL) hall, Jiribam organised by Jiribam Muslim Human Resource Development Society under the sponsorship of Manipur State Minorities Commission, Manipur.

Jiribam: The people of Jiribam have condemned the transfer order of CMO and Assistant Deputy Superintendent who joined the CHC, Jiribam one and half months ago.
A press release issued by convenor of Monitoring Committee, CHC Jiribam stated that the amidst the lack of manpower and improper functioning of the health centres in Jiribam, the transfer order of the doctors have made the people furious.
The Committee urged the State Government and the authority concerned to look into the matter and bring an amicable solution taking into account the pathetic situation of health centres in Jiribam.

Jiribam: The 16th summer special coaching for class IX and X organised by Manipur Students’ Federation (MSF) District Committee, Jiribam concluded today at All Jiribam United Clubs’ Association (AJUCA) office.
A meritorious award distribution ceremony was also conducted for the highest mark scorers of Jiribam Sub-Division in class X and XII exam (BOSEM, COHSEM and CBSE).
AJUCA president M Maipaksana, MSF District Committee Jiribam president A Rajiv Meetei and MSF District Committee Jiribam Advisor N Dhamendra attended the even as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Teachers of the 16th summer special coaching were awarded with simple gifts.
