KANGPOKPI, Jun 23: The Keithelmanbi Youth Asso-ciation in a praiseworthy approach has cleaned the unattended drain alongside the NH-2 this morning.
The drain at Keithelmanbi village which is around 70 metres long remained unattended for so long that the waste materials have created massive inconveniences to thousands of commuters.

KANGPOKPI, Jun 22: Condemnations and protests over the alleged military operation at KNF designated camp at Natheljang in Kangpokpi district continue to pour in. Various civil organisations have also demanded the release of 26 KNF cadres and withdrawal of charges against the KNF leaders.

KANGPOKPI, Jun 21: Accusing the Centre and the State Government of betraying the Kuki people by violating the SoO pact as well as the ongoing tripartite talks with the groups in the SoO pact by arresting 26 cadres of KNF, the Kukis in Kangpokpi district demanded the Government to release the arrested KNF cadres and withdraw all charges against its leaders.

KANGPOKPI, Jun 20 : The District Social Welfare office, Kangpokpi district organized a spot essay writing competition at Elite Higher Secondary School, Kangpokpi DHQs under the theme ‘Think Health, Not Drugs’ today. 30 students (class IX to XII) from various schools within Kangpokpi DHQs participated in the essay competition.

KANGPOKPI, Jun 19: The Deputy Director (Veterinary), Kangpokpi Z Haokip has clarified that the report carried in this newspaper, which said that 20 animals were killed as a result of FMD is false.
So far, the number of animal death is only three and not 20, he stated.
A press release issued by Z Haokip stated that under the supervision of the Director of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, a team of officers led by him rushed to the affected village in Twailang area on June 2 and 6.
The team conducted a door -to-door visit of the village where the animals were vaccinated and required medicines, procured from the Directorate office, were provided, it added.
