Career counselling for students held

IMPHAL, Apr 26 : Jwalamukhi Battalion under Senapati Brigade of Red Shield Division has organized a career counselling session  for students and youth at Model English School, Saikul on April 24.
With an effort to help the youth contribute towards Nation building, the unit organized motivated the youth to join Indian Army.
A total of 120 students from Saikul Model English School attended the career counseling session.

Anti-school drop out campaign organised

IMPHAL, Apr 25 : Noney Battalion under the aegis of Loktak Brigade of Red Shield Division has organised an awareness campaign on anti-school drop out at Oktan village on April 22.
The programme was organised under the supervision of Haochong Post.
The aim of the awareness programme was to educate the students and their families on the wide opportunities education can offer.
On the other hand, an interactive session was also held at Grace Children Home, Noney on April 22 by Noney Battalion. The function was attended by 42 children and staff of the home. Outdoor games were also organised for the children.

Lecture prog

IMPHAL, Apr 19 : Noney Battalion under the aegis of Loktak Brigade under Red Shield Division has organised a lecture programme on the prevalent menace of drug and alcohol abuse at Marangching Village on April 6.
Awareness on drug and alcohol abuse was provided to ensure change of attitude towards the drug and alcohol abuse which is a growing trend among the youngsters.
The lecture was organised under supervision of Post Commander of COB Tupul and was attended by a large number of villagers.

IPPI programme held

IMPHAL, Apr 3 : Senapati Brigade under the aegis of Red Shield Division has organised Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization programme in Senapati, Kangpokpi and Tamenglong districts.
Medical camps were set up at Battalion headquarters of AR Units at Maram, Lairouching and Tamenglong.
Altogether 263 children were administered pulse polio by the respective medical team.

69-kg marijuana seized

IMPHAL, Mar 30 : Troops of Jwalamukhi Battalion of Senapati Brigade under the aegis of Red Shield Division, during routine checking of vehicles at mobile vehicle check post at Ekou Bazar, recovered 96 kgs of Ganja from Maruti 800 No AS-01N 0255 on March 27.
Vehicle owner and his associate were arrested and have been identified as Thonglai Khongsai (54), s/o Jangkhohef Khongsai of Gamlaiviang village (Saikul) and Amang Khongsai (62), s/o Lenghou Khongsai of T Sumjang village.
The apprehendees alongwith the vehicle and recovered items have been handed over to Saikul police station on March 28 after lodging an FIR.

Community hall inaugurated

IMPHAL, Feb 16 : The Commander of Senapati Brigade under the aegis of Red Shield Division has inaugurated a community hall constructed under Army MCA Project to Kathiko village, (Karong) on February14.
The community hall will benefit over 5000 villagers residing at Khabung and Kathiko villages.
The inauguration programme was also attended by village authority members of three villages.
Speaking at the function, the Commander said that army will always extend all possible help through MCA projects.
The villagers also expressed gratitude to the security forces for their selfless service.

National integration tour concludes

IMPHAL, Jan 27 :A week long National integration tour organized by the Maram Battalion of Senapati Brigade under the aegis of Red Shield Division culminated on January 24. A total of 18 students and two teachers of Maram Khullen High School of Senapati District (Manipur) participated in the tour, a PIB Defence statement informed.
During the course of the tour, the participants visited various historical places. Prominent amongst these were the Fort Williams, Eden Gardens, Mohun Bagan Athletic Club, Indian Museum, Botanical Garden and Howrah Bridge. Apart from these, the students were given a chance to experience metro city lifestyle with their visit to Park Street, New Market and Science City. The students also interacted with Lt Gen Dushyant Singh, Chief of Staff (COS), Eastern Command.
The tour exposed the students to the rich heritage and culture of the nation. All the students and teachers were felicitated with souvenirs and certificates.
The students conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to the organizing team of Maram Battalion and were thankful to the Army as a whole for giving them such opportunity.

GOC greets people

IMPHAL, Jan 25 : The General Officer Commanding, Red Shield Division has extended greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of the 68th Republic Day.
In a statement, the GOC urged the people to shed all the inhibitions and promote peaceful co-existence in order to provide a conducive environment for overall progress and development of the State.
He also wished the people peace, prosperity and tranquillity in the days to come while urging the people to join hands and fight evils and insurgency in the State.
“A united family, a united State, a united Nation is the hallmark of development. Youth should come forward and contribute to the betterment of society ,” the GOC said.

National integration tour concludes

Noney: The 19-day National integration tour to Delhi and Agra for Noney students that was flagged off by Noney Battalion of Loktak Brigade under the aegis of Red Shield Division on January 5 concluded on January 23.
The team visited various historic places like the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Red Fort, Akshardham Temple, Qutub Minar, Birla Mandir, Lotus Temple, Humayun’s Tomb and also enjoyed metro ride in Delhi.
The team also visited the Rashtrapati Bhawan and met with the President Pranab Mukherjee. They also witnessed the Army Day Parade on January 15 and interacted with civil and military dignitaries at Kariappa Parade ground, Headquarters Delhi area.
The tour concluded with the flagging in ceremony by Commander of Loktak Brigade on January 23, a PIB Defence statement informed.
