Police community liaison meeting

Tengnoupal: The monthly police community liaison group meeting was organised by Moreh police at the conference hall of Hill Tribal Council (HTC), Moreh today.
The meeting deliberated on the transfer of the sole gynaecologist of Moreh hospital without sending a substitute and the unavailability of MST bus ticket by passengers of Moreh.
It also expressed the desire for the police personnel to continue their duty longer at Moreh Bazar and also discussed on the recent incidents which occurred at the no man’s land lying between Myanmar and border area of the State.
ADC Chandel member Chinneivah Haokip, Moreh police SDPO Lawrence, Capt Sandeep of 11 AR, SI, Akbar, other officials, MCM, HTC, MMCM, Tamil Sangam, Gurkha Samaj, Indo Myanmar Workers Forum Moreh, ACODOM, Kha Nongpok Apunba Nupi Lup, Moreh hospital doctors, ADC Moreh staff, SBI bank Moreh staff, KWU & HR Moreh were present in the meeting.

TENGNOUPAL, Jan 14:The 50th Pongal festival kicked off today at Sunrise playground, Moreh. The winter harvest festival of the Tamil community sponsored by Tamil Sangam Moreh will continue till January 16.

TENGNOUPAL, Jan 13: All Community Leaders (ACL) Moreh today opposed transfer order of the lone Gynaecologist of Moreh Hospital and appealed concerned authorities of the Health Department to sent a replacement first.
Moreh Hospital currently has only one gynaecologist doctor, said ACL Moreh. Condemning the order of the Government to transfer the only doctor, ACL said that the order is against the welfare and interests of the people in the town. The order shows that the Government undermined the people of Moreh, alleged ACL.
The ACL warned concerned authorities of the Government that it will launch serious agitation if a replacement is not send by January 18. Either the Government send a replacement or cancel the transfer order, ACL said.

Tpl, Jan 11 : Tengnoupal district police personnel arrested one self style 2nd Lieutenant of PREPAK from Dalpati, Moreh Wad number 2, at around 2 pm today.
According to police source, acting on specific information about the presence of some active UG members in and around Dalpati area, under Moreh Ward number 2, the district police launched a search operation.
During the operation, one self styled 2nd Lieutenant of PREPAK identified as Thamangjam Imocha alias Houna Luwang (40) s/o (L) Th Jugindro of Mayang Langjing Tamang was detained by the police. During preliminary interrogation, the arrested individual revealed that he joined the outfit in 2007 and is currently working under the command of self styles Lieutenant Colonel Micheal of the outfit.

Tengnoupal: Moreh police, Moreh commando and 11 Assam Rifles personnel along with Myanmar army successfully disposed off a hand grenade which was found lying in an open space at no man’s land, between India and Myanmar. The hand grenade was recovered at around 1.45 pm and was successfully disposed off at 4 pm.

Tengnoupal: Tengnoupal district police arrested one member of KCP (Noyon group) from Indo-Myanmar border town, near Moreh forest gate yesterday night at around 11.25 pm.

New Year celebrated

Tengnoupal: Moreh police commando, Tengnoupal district along with members of Tamu Youth Myanmar Football Club and Supporter Football Academy organised a small gathering to welcome the New Year, today.
DSP, Th Krishnatombi and the Myanmar delegates extended warm wishes to the people with the coming of 2018.
Later, a 2018 calendar along with a dairy were presented to Myanmar delegates while the Myanmar delegates presented simple gifts to Moreh police personnel present at the function.
A grand feast marked the celebration.

Inspected

Tengnoupal: A team of Tengnoupal district police inspected the no man lands, located between Border Pillar No 78 and 79 after it came to light that Myanmar authorities took up ground levelling work at the said area yesterday.
Speaking to media persons, DC, Raghumani stated that although the levelling work was stopped by Tengnoupal police under the supervision of the SP, it is unfortunate that the Myanmar authority did not attempt to request or notify the security personnel and police of the border town.
The authorities of Myanmar should have followed the necessary protocol and notified the State officials first.
Meanwhile, locals who took up pig farming in the border town will be instructed to evict before January 3.
In connection with the incident, a formal letter will be sent to Myanmar State Government and its DC, he added.
Officials of 11 AR also took part in the inspection, reports our correspondent.

Tengnoupal: Th Birachandra Singh Football Academy (TBSFA) released the its 2018 calendar at Eastern Shine School ground, Moreh ward no 7, today.
The 9th TBSFA calendar for 2018 was released by DC Tengnoupal Kh Raghumani Singh, who attended the event as chief guest.
SP, Tengnoupal Dr S Ibomcha singh attended the event as functional president while ADC Moreh N Gojendro Singh and women leaders of Moreh as guests of honour.
Later, a friendly football match was played between MCM 11 team and TBSFA Imphal team.

Tengnoupal: An office of the Moreh Consumer Club was inaugurated today at Phaicham Veng, ward no 3, Moreh with Lhukhosei Zou, Chairman of Autonomous District Council, Chandel as chief guest.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Lhukhosei said that the consumer club will serve its purpose and protect the rights of consumers in the town, reports our correspondent.
He further stated that the consumer club, if it functions properly, will bring positive changes in Moreh while underlining the importance of spreading awareness on consumer rights to the people.
